Using Media Board
Prepare your library, control a show and keep your workstations in sync.
First playback
- Install Media Board for Windows and open the application.
- Create or select a playlist, then add a button.
- Open the button configuration. Set a title and browse for an audio or video file under Action files.
- Save the configuration and click the button to start. Use the main player or Now playing to pause, resume or stop it.
Keep media files at their configured paths. Moving or deleting a file can prevent its button from playing.
Playlists & buttons
Use playlists to group content for a show, activity or scene. Buttons can carry media, an image, text and a DMX timeline. Give each button a recognizable title; use its Text field for the text you want to display.
Playlist options controls playlist playback behavior. Sequence advances in order; Shuffle chooses the next content randomly. Loop controls playlist repetition. The playlist duration indicator totals timed content; images and text do not have a fixed playback duration.
When clicking a playing button again defaults to Stop media at playlist level. A button defaults to Inherit from playlist, or can override that choice in its configuration.
Configure Start, End and fade times when you only need part of a track. Preview the result before using it live.
Playback & transitions
Now playing lists active and paused audio/video. Pause retains the position; resume continues that execution. Finished content leaves the list.
- Overlap permits simultaneous playback according to the button's playback rules.
- When replaced by another track chooses Stop (default) or Pause for the outgoing content.
- A paused item can remain in Now playing while another starts. Resuming it applies the normal replacement and overlap rules to content currently playing.
- Mix on transition and the configured fade times control transitions, including resuming paused content.
Use the seek slider to move within audio or video. Test transitions with your actual files and output device before a live show.
Secondary screen
In Settings, enable the secondary screen and select the display used for your audience. Configure an Idle Image for when no active visual content is shown. Video playback remains controlled from Media Board.

DMX timelines
Control lights from the same board as your media. The complete DMX guide covers compatible output, fixture profiles, animated timelines, lighting-only buttons and plan access.
- Open the DMX timeline editor. Select the USB/DMX device.
- Choose a fixture profile and channel mode matching the lamp, then set its DMX start address. Allocate enough consecutive channels without overlapping other fixtures.
- Add the fixture, add a segment and select that segment to edit its channels.
- Use Keyframes / Transitions for changes over time. Available controls depend on the fixture profile, such as RGB, colour wheel or Pan/Tilt.
- Save the timeline, then select it in a button's DMX Effect field.
Live DMX preview sends edits to the selected device. Check the fixture's address and mode if it does not respond; dimmer and shutter/strobe settings may also affect light output.
An optional reference video opens in a separate resizable window. Playback and seeking are synchronized with the editor. Its path is saved with the timeline; a missing file is not loaded. The timeline ruler marks the video's end.
Keep connection active, in More settings > DMX and in the editor, maintains zero-valued DMX transmission while idle. The settings are synchronized. This can avoid the initial connection delay of wireless DMX; the transmitter remains active.
Without the DMX plan, one button can be chosen for the free DMX trial. Creating fixtures and editing timelines is still available. See plans for access options.
Cloud sync
Sync is manual. Set a recognizable workstation name in More settings > Cloud sync; it defaults to the computer name. Last-sync information identifies the workstation and the date and time.
Each PC keeps its last common version. On a later sync, Media Board compares local and cloud changes against that version. If the same item has incompatible changes, the conflict dialog asks you to resolve them before proceeding.
- Review the button, playlist, timeline or fixture profile named in each conflict.
- Choose the version you want to preserve. Resolve missing references too, such as a retained button pointing to a deleted timeline.
- Complete sync on one workstation, then sync the others before making further shared changes.
Use an up-to-date application on every PC. Once revision-based sync is activated for an account, legacy clients cannot sync. Cloud sync is not a substitute for keeping an independent backup.
Open Print from the main menu. Borderò is the default: choose one or more playlists, or the tracks actually played when played-button tracking is enabled.
Bingo cards contain a 4-row by 5-column grid. Provide at least 20 eligible buttons for generation. Each cell uses the button's Text, falling back to its Title when Text is empty. Generate the cards, then export the PDF.
Troubleshooting
- No channels in the DMX panel
- Add and select a segment on the fixture track. Selecting only the fixture is not enough to edit a segment's values.
- A lamp stays dark
- Match its physical channel mode and address to the profile. Check the selected output device, dimmer and shutter, then test a known colour.
- A media file does not play
- Check the configured file path, output device and Start/End times. Try the file on its own before testing transitions.
- An external app cannot connect
- Enable Local API and press Apply in More settings. Use the displayed numeric IP and port. For another PC, check the LAN address and private-network firewall. See connection setup.
